Tirtol Police Bust Illegal Explosives Storage Unit, Arrest Three in Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: In a major crackdown on the illegal storage and manufacture of explosive materials, Tirtol Police conducted raids at two houses in Mahilo village under Tirtol police limits and seized a large quantity of explosives and firecrackers.

Three persons were arrested during the operation.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, police officials raided the premises and recovered 33 sutuli bombs, firecrackers, gunpowder, black powder, flash powder, and other explosive substances allegedly stored illegally.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Abhimanyu Nayak (68), Nrusingh Charan Rout (52), and Suresh Chandra Das (56).

Following the seizure, a case was registered at Tirtol Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Explosives Act.

Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the materials and determine whether others were involved in the illegal operation.

Officials reiterated their commitment to curbing unlawful activities involving explosives and ensuring public safety.

The seizure is being viewed as a significant step toward preventing potential threats arising from the unauthorised storage of explosive materials in residential areas.
