Balangir Schools Shut for Two Days Amid Heavy Rain Alert

Balangir: The district administration has ordered the closure of all educational institutions in Balangir for two days, September 23 and 24, following an Orange Warning issued by the Special Relief Commissioner for heavy rainfall.

The directive applies to government, government‑aided, and private schools, including elementary, secondary, and higher secondary institutions, Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs), Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), and Anganwadi Centres (AWCs).

The precautionary measure aims to safeguard students as the region braces for heavy rain.

However, examinations scheduled for these dates will continue as planned, with no changes to the timetable.

Heads of institutions have been instructed to strictly comply with the order, which was issued by the Additional District Magistrate on behalf of the Collector and District Magistrate.
