Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has issued a Covid alert in border districts after Andhra Pradesh reported two suspected Covid‑19 deaths in Kadapa.
Public Health Director Dr Rabindranath Mishra confirmed that regular testing is underway across the state, with all reports negative so far.
Chief District Medical Officers in Ganjam, Gajapati, and Koraput have been directed to intensify screening at entry points.
Hospitals have been instructed to keep isolation beds and facilities ready.
With the upcoming Rath Yatra expected to draw massive crowds, officials emphasised strict monitoring and immediate testing of anyone showing Covid‑like symptoms.
Citizens have been urged to wear masks, maintain social distancing, and follow hygiene practices to prevent any outbreak.
