Bhadrak: Armed Robbers Loot Cash and Gold Worth ₹30 Lakh
A gang of eight armed robbers stormed a residence in Amburuli panchayat’s Talang village, Bhadrak district, late Friday night, looting cash and gold valued at over Rs 30 lakh.
The incident occurred around 10 PM when the family of Gangadhar Mallik was having dinner.
The robbers, wielding guns and knives, forced the family to open their almirah and seized Rs 22 lakh in cash—meant for a land purchase—along with gold ornaments.
After locking the family inside a room and confiscating their mobile phones, the gang fled.
The victims managed to alert neighbours through a window, who helped them escape.
Witnesses reported that only one robber wore a mask, while others kept their faces uncovered and spoke in both Odia and Hindi.
Police from the Bhadrak rural station have launched an investigation.
The incident has sparked fear among locals, who are demanding swift action against the culprits.
