Angul Couple Found Hanging After Online Gaming Losses
Angul: In a shocking incident, a newlywed couple was found hanging from a cashew tree near Machhakuta playground in Angul district.
The deceased, identified as 24‑year‑old Manas Behera and his wife had reportedly lost a significant amount of money in online gaming.
According to sources, despite being married just 15 days ago, Manas continued playing online games, which led to frequent quarrels at home.
On Wednesday afternoon, following a heated argument, the couple left their residence. Locals discovered their bodies early Thursday morning.
Police reached the spot, recovered the bodies, and sent them for postmortem. An unnatural death case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
The incident has raised serious concerns about the growing menace of online gaming addiction and its devastating impact on families in Odisha.
