Woman’s Body Recovered After Trisulia Bridge Tragedy

Cuttack, Odisha: A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday when a 28‑year‑old woman, identified as Chandrika Hembram, allegedly jumped into the Mahanadi River from Trisulia Bridge.

Passersby noticed her bag and slippers left behind on the bridge and immediately alerted the police.

Barang Police, along with Fire Services personnel, launched a search operation and later recovered her body, which was sent to SCB Medical College & Hospital for post‑mortem examination.

Investigators identified the woman through a doctor’s prescription found in her bag, while her mobile phone was also recovered.

Eyewitnesses claimed she jumped into the river, but police have not ruled out foul play.

Authorities are examining all possible angles to determine whether the incident was suicide or if other factors were involved.
