Soumya Murder Probe: Girlfriend’s Audio Exposes Rift With Friend Om

Bhubaneswar: The Soumya murder investigation has taken a new turn with the emergence of audio evidence from his girlfriend, shedding light on a dispute between Soumya and his friend Om.

The rift reportedly stemmed from financial dealings linked to a local gym.

Soumya had argued with the gym owner over payments, while Om later discouraged members from attending, claiming the gym had closed.

Crime Branch Director General Vinaytosh Mishra confirmed that suspects were traced using mobile data and digital evidence.

So far, 18 arrests have been made, with more expected as the probe deepens.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) is closely monitoring the case. Soumya’s girlfriend appeared before the commission alongside Balipatna police officers and Crime Branch officials.

Om’s testimony has already been recorded, and investigators anticipate further insights from the girlfriend’s statement.

Authorities believe the leaked audio has become a crucial piece of evidence, potentially exposing motives behind the crime and strengthening the case against those under scanner.
