Sisir Saras 2026: Rural Crafts Meet Urban Buzz in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar witnessed the grand inauguration of Sisir Saras 2026 at the IDCO Exhibition Ground on January 10.

The nine‑day fair, organised by ORMAS under the Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department, brings together artisans, weavers, and entrepreneurs from across Odisha and 20 other states.

Minister Gokulananda Mallik inaugurated the event, highlighting its role in fostering self‑reliance and rural empowerment.

Mayor Sulochana Das praised ORMAS for preserving Odisha’s cultural heritage while generating employment, and MLA Ananta Narayan Jena emphasised its contribution to strengthening the rural economy.

With over 340 stalls, the fair showcases GI‑tagged products such as Sambalpur and Subarnapur handlooms, Koraput’s Kalajeera rice, and Sundargarh millet.

Organisers have set a business target of Rs 30 crore, reinforcing the “Vocal for Local” ethos.

Beyond commerce, Sisir Saras offers cultural evenings featuring renowned artists, including Bollywood singer Divya Kumar, alongside a tribute to late Odia singer Humane Sagar.

Visitors can enjoy food counters, selfie corners, and play zones, all within a plastic‑free, eco‑friendly venue decorated with traditional Jhoti art.

Open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM until January 18, Sisir Saras 2026 promises Bhubaneswar a vibrant “Mini India Market” blending culture, commerce, and community spirit.
