Odisha Police SI Exam Scheduled for November 2026; OUUSSC Assures Fair and Secure Recruitment
Bhubaneswar: Thousands of Odisha Police Sub-Inspector (SI) aspirants have received a major update as the recruitment examination is set to be conducted in November 2026.
The announcement was made by Rashmi Ranjan Swain, Chairman of the newly constituted Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (OUUSSC), which will oversee the recruitment process.
The recruitment drive comes after a major controversy surrounding the previous SI examination, which was marred by allegations of question paper leaks and examination irregularities.
The scandal led to the arrest of several candidates and intermediaries, prompting the Odisha Government to hand over the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Addressing concerns of aspirants, Rashmi Ranjan Swain stated that the commission is committed to conducting a transparent, fair and credible recruitment process.
According to him, advanced security protocols, modern technology and strict surveillance mechanisms will be deployed throughout the examination cycle to eliminate the possibility of malpractice.
The chairman also informed that once the written examination is completed in November 2026, results will be announced promptly, followed by physical efficiency and other recruitment tests.
The earlier recruitment process conducted under the Odisha Police Recruitment Board had faced repeated setbacks before being cancelled due to the paper leak controversy, leaving many candidates disappointed.
The formation of the OUUSSC is expected to restore confidence in the recruitment system and ensure greater accountability in future examinations.
Candidates have been advised to stay away from rumours and middlemen and rely only on information published through official OUUSSC channels.
The commission reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency and safeguarding the interests of genuine aspirants.
With the exam date now announced, aspirants are expected to intensify their preparations for one of Odisha’s most sought-after uniformed services recruitment examinations.
