Odisha Students Meet Himachal CM Sukhu in Shimla During Youth Exchange Programme
A group of 47 students from Odisha met Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, in Shimla as part of an interstate Youth Exchange Programme aimed at promoting national integration and cultural understanding.
The delegation, comprising students from 32 districts of Odisha aged between 18 and 30 years, is currently on a visit to Himachal Pradesh.
The exchange programme provides young participants with an opportunity to learn about the cultural heritage, history, and developmental initiatives of different states.
During the interaction, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu welcomed the students and spoke about Himachal Pradesh’s rich traditions and unique cultural identity.
He encouraged the visiting youths to remain dedicated to their goals and contribute positively to society.
As a gesture of goodwill, the students presented the Chief Minister with a Sambalpuri Uttariya and a Dhokra art painting, showcasing Odisha’s vibrant cultural and handicraft traditions.
As part of their educational tour, the students have already visited NIT Hamirpur and Shimla.
Their itinerary also includes visits to IIT Mandi, the Atal Tunnel, and the revered Jwalamukhi Temple.
The programme seeks to foster greater understanding among young people from different regions of the country while strengthening the spirit of unity in diversity.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu extended his best wishes to the students and expressed hope that their stay in Himachal Pradesh would be memorable and enriching.
The cultural exchange initiative is expected to continue as around 50 students from Himachal Pradesh are scheduled to visit Odisha later.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil and Principal Advisor (Media) Naresh Chauhan were also present during the interaction.
