Raurkela: Man Charred to Death in Midnight Fire
Raurkela witnessed a tragic incident when a 58‑year‑old man, Jitendra Saha, was charred to death after a fire broke out in his residence at Madhusudan Pali, Railway Colony, around 1:30 am.
According to reports, Saha was asleep when the blaze engulfed his room.
His son, Rohit Saha, who was in another room, narrowly escaped.
Neighbours noticed the flames and raised an alarm, but the locked door prevented immediate rescue.
Fire services rushed to the spot, but Jitendra had already succumbed to severe burn injuries.
Police recovered the body and sent it for postmortem at Raurkela Government Hospital.
An unnatural death case has been registered, and authorities have begun investigating the exact cause of the fire.
