Puri Suna Besha 2026: Odisha Police Enforce Strict Traffic Plan for Devotees
Puri is bracing for an unprecedented influx of devotees as the sacred Suna Besha ritual of Lord Jagannath and His siblings unfolds.
Anticipating over 10 lakh visitors, Odisha Police has extended Rath Yatra traffic arrangements to ensure smooth movement and safety.
A total of 30 parking zones have been set up, accommodating nearly 8,500 four‑wheelers, 30,000 two‑wheelers, and three bus parking areas.
To ease congestion, more than 400 free auto‑rickshaws will ferry devotees from parking zones to the Grand Road (Bada Danda).
Traffic updates will be broadcast in real time via SMS, FM radio, local media, social platforms, and LED boards.
Four‑wheelers are restricted between Batagaon Chhak and Atharnala, with designated parking at Talabania and Sterling Chhak.
Traffic IG Amitabh Thakur has appealed to devotees to follow advisories and cooperate with police personnel, who are deployed at key points to manage crowds and ensure safe darshan.
