IDCO Unveils Major Industrial Reforms to Boost Odisha’s Ease of Doing Business
The Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) has announced sweeping reforms aimed at strengthening the state’s industrial ecosystem.
At a stakeholder meeting chaired by Principal Secretary Usha Padhee, industry associations, MSMEs, and trade bodies discussed measures to streamline land allotment, improve infrastructure, and accelerate approvals.
Key highlights include the expansion of the Industrial Land Bank by 6,000 acres, allotment of land to 93 major projects, and development of 30 MSME parks alongside sector‑specific hubs for electronics, textiles, plastics, seafood, and aluminium.
Infrastructure upgrades worth Rs 3,500 crore are underway, with an additional Rs 1,870 crore proposed under IIDF and SASCI schemes.
Governance reforms include removal of ground coverage restrictions, automated issuance of mortgage NOCs, and a digital Industrial Land Bank platform to ensure allotment and possession within one month of approval.
Estate upgrades such as water supply restoration, drainage improvements, smart street lighting, and fire‑hydrant systems are also in progress.
Industry bodies including CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, and NASSCOM pledged continued collaboration with IDCO to position Odisha as a preferred investment destination.
