Puri–Koraput Express Flagged Off, Amrit Bharat Service Goes Daily
The Puri–Koraput Express (Train No. 18407/18408) will directly link the coastal pilgrimage city of Puri with Koraput, the tribal heartland of southern Odisha.
Running thrice weekly, the train will pass through Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Angul, Sambalpur, Balangir, Titlagarh, Rayagada, and Damanjodi.
This service is expected to boost tourism, education, healthcare access, and trade across western and southern Odisha.
Meanwhile, the Brahmapur–Udhna (Surat) Amrit Bharat Express will be upgraded from tri‑weekly to a daily service.
Strengthening Odisha–Gujarat connectivity via Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra, the train will benefit migrant workers, students, traders, and families while supporting industrial growth and commerce.
Both services align with the vision of “Viksit Odisha, Viksit Bharat”, expanding rail reach, improving passenger amenities, and accelerating regional development.
