Police Recover Stolen Goods, Arrest Two in Sundargarh Burglary Case
Sundargarh, April 28: Swift police action in Sundargarh led to the recovery of stolen valuables and the arrest of two accused in a recent burglary.
On April 18, burglars broke into the locked house of Tapan Bhattacharya in Bhatapada and looted cash, gold, silver ornaments, and electronics.
Bhattacharya discovered the theft upon returning on April 26 and lodged a complaint at the Rajgangpur police station.
A team led by SI Damayanti Mohanta, Rajesh Kumar Sethi, Arun Kumar Behera, and ASI Chintamani Mohanta conducted raids and arrested Satish Saha of Baruapada and Rohit Bahadur of Bhatapada.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime.
Police recovered a laptop, an induction stove, a CCTV DVR, Rs 6,100 cash, a gold necklace, gold earrings, 31,260 grams of silver ornaments, two silver coins, and the iron rod used in the burglary.
The accused were booked under sections 331(4)/305(a)/3 BNS and forwarded to court.
Authorities hailed the operation as a significant success in curbing property crimes in the district.
