Odisha’s Koraput Coffee to Brew at BRICS Summit 2026

Odisha’s famed Koraput Coffee has earned a global spotlight as it is set to be served at the BRICS Summit in New Delhi on September 12–13, 2026.

The Tiger Bright variety, a 100% Arabica blend cultivated in the tribal highlands of Koraput, was selected under the Ministry of External Affairs’ One District One Product (ODOP) initiative.

The Tribal Development Cooperative Corporation of Odisha (TDCCOL) dispatched 1,500 packets of 250g each to New Delhi, ensuring delivery within 36 hours through rapid air transport.

This logistical feat underscores Odisha’s commitment to showcasing its indigenous produce on the world stage.

Koraput Coffee has already won national acclaim for its rich aroma and distinctive flavour.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi previously hailed it as the “Pride of Odisha” during his Mann Ki Baat program.

Its presence at the BRICS Summit not only highlights Odisha’s agricultural heritage but also strengthens India’s cultural diplomacy by presenting authentic local products to international delegates.

This milestone marks a significant step in positioning Odisha’s tribal produce as a symbol of pride, sustainability, and global recognition.
