Odisha Seals ₹15,000 Cr MoUs with HCLTech & Sarvam AI

Bhubaneswar: In a historic move, the Odisha government has signed two major Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with HCLTech and Sarvam AI, paving the way for transformative investments in the state’s technology and industrial sectors.

Under the agreements, HCLTech will establish a Global Delivery Centre, while Sarvam AI will set up a sovereign AI Park with an AI‑optimized Data Centre in Odisha.

The combined projects will begin with an initial investment of Rs 730 crore, scaling up to Rs 15,000 crore over five years.

The initiatives are expected to generate over 6,000 direct jobs, offering opportunities for Odisha’s skilled youth and strengthening the state’s position as a hub for semiconductors, AI, pharma, textiles, and IT.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi hailed the development as a “new revolution” in Odisha’s industrial and tech landscape.

HCLTech Chairperson Roshni Nadar Malhotra described the AI Park as a milestone in India’s AI journey, while State IT Minister Mukesh Mahaling termed the moment “historic,” emphasising Odisha’s rise as a national electronics and IT hub.

Sarvam AI’s platform will also support Odia and other Indian languages, ensuring localised AI services that resonate with regional audiences.

With these projects, Odisha aims to secure a place among the top three states in NITI Aayog’s Investment Friendliness Index.
