Odisha Vigilance Arrests Kendrapada Revenue Inspector for Bribe in Mutation Case
Odisha Vigilance officials arrested Sai Darshini Lenka, Revenue Inspector of Kaupada Circle in Kendrapada district, after she was caught red‑handed accepting a bribe of Rs 5,500.
The complainant, a landowner seeking mutation of property to obtain a Record of Rights (ROR), alleged that Lenka demanded Rs 6,000, later reduced to Rs 5,500, for a favourable mutation report.
Acting on the complaint, Vigilance verified the allegation and laid a trap.
Lenka was apprehended while receiving the bribe, and the money was seized as evidence.
Simultaneous searches were conducted at three locations linked to her to detect disproportionate assets.
A case has been registered at Cuttack Vigilance Police Station (Case No. 27, dated July 23, 2026) under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. The investigation is ongoing.
