Odisha Health Dept: No Nipah Threat Detected

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Health Department has reassured citizens that there is no immediate threat of the Nipah virus in the state.

The clarification comes after two nurses in West Bengal tested positive for the virus, sparking concerns in neighbouring regions.

Officials confirmed that Odisha has not reported any Nipah cases so far.

The state continues to follow the Nipah management guidelines issued in 2023 and remains in close coordination with the Union Government.

The central team has already been deployed to West Bengal to assess the situation there.

The Health Department urged people not to panic and to rely only on official advisories for accurate information.

Citizens are advised to remain cautious but calm, as the outbreak is currently limited to two confirmed cases in West Bengal with no evidence of wider spread.
