Odisha Govt Approves ₹93.13 Cr Smartphone Procurement for POSHAN Abhiyaan
The Odisha State Cabinet has sanctioned the procurement of 79,033 Samsung Galaxy A06 smartphones at a cost of Rs 93.13 crore to strengthen the implementation of POSHAN Abhiyaan.
The devices will be supplied by NF Infratech Services Pvt. Ltd. through the Government e‑Marketplace (GeM) portal.
The initiative, under Saksham Anganwadi and POSHAN 2.0, ensures that frontline workers — including Anganwadi Workers, Lady Supervisors, and Block Coordinators (Poshan) — receive smartphones once every four years.
These devices will enable real‑time monitoring, seamless beneficiary registration, and daily data entry on the Poshan Tracker.
They will also support supplementary nutrition tracking, Take‑Home Ration distribution via Face Recognition System (FRS), and growth measurement of children.
The move reflects Odisha’s push toward digital governance in welfare schemes, aiming to improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency in child development and nutrition programs.
