Odisha Governor Names Vice-Chancellors for 14 Universities
Bhubaneswar: In a major step to strengthen higher education governance, Odisha Governor and Chancellor of state universities, Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, has appointed Vice-Chancellors for 14 universities across the state.
The appointments, made under the Odisha Universities Act, 1989 and the Odia University Act, 2017, follow a rigorous selection process initiated in June 2025.
The newly appointed Vice-Chancellors include Prof. Chandi Prasad Nanda (Utkal University), Prof. Arka Kumar Das Mohapatra (Ravenshaw University), Prof. Santosh Kumar Tripathy (Fakir Mohan University), Prof. Sanjaya Kumar Patro (Dharanidhar University), Prof. Byomakesh Tripathy (Gangadhar Meher University), Prof. Asima Sahu (Khallikote Unitary University), Prof. Pawan Kumar Agrawal (Maa Manikeshwari University), Prof. Sibaram Tripathy (Madhusudan Law University), Prof. Mahendra Kumar Mohanty (Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University), Prof. Bibhuti Bhusan Malik (Rajendra University), Prof. Jyotsna K.B. Rout (Rama Devi Women’s University), Prof. Prabhat Kumar Mohapatra (Shree Jagannath Sanskrit University), Prof. Hrushikesh Senapaty (Vikram Dev University), and Prof. Satyanarayan Acharya (Odia University).
The Governor expressed confidence that the new leadership will drive academic excellence, research, and innovation, while addressing long‑standing administrative challenges in Odisha’s higher education system.
