Odisha Gets ₹600 Cr Power Upgrade | Low Voltage Issues to End

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has taken a major step toward strengthening its electricity network with the inauguration of a Rs 600 crore expansion project.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled three new grid substations and eight transmission lines at Balianta in Khurda district, marking a significant milestone in the state’s power sector.

The project includes a high-capacity grid substation at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, ensuring uninterrupted electricity for critical healthcare services.

Officials stated that the initiative will eliminate low-voltage issues in Bhubaneswar and surrounding areas, while modernising the state’s transmission system to meet growing urban and rural demands.

Speaking at the event, CM Majhi emphasised that robust power infrastructure is essential for a developed and inclusive Odisha.

He highlighted that the project will not only improve service delivery but also support economic growth and enhance public welfare.
