Odisha Ganja Kingpin Nabbed in Delhi After Chase

Delhi Police’s Anti-Narcotics Squad has arrested Aakash Kumar Digal, a key ganja supplier from Kandhamal district, Odisha, marking a major breakthrough against interstate drug syndicates.

On March 11, police intercepted two men, Akbar and Firoj Khan, in Delhi with 21.7 kg of ganja and 46 grams of smack worth Rs 12 lakh.

During interrogation, Khan revealed that he sourced ganja in bulk from Digal, who operated from a remote forested village in Kandhamal, where ganja grows naturally.

Following intensive raids and technical surveillance across Odisha, police tracked Digal to Bhubaneswar. On March 26, he was arrested after a chase.

Digal confessed to supplying ganja in bulk for the past 2–3 years, exploiting forest cover to evade checks.

His motive was quick financial gain through an organised interstate drug network.

Police confirmed that the case falls under the NDPS Act, targeting interstate drug syndicates.

The arrest is seen as a significant step in curbing narcotics supply chains between Odisha and Delhi-NCR.
