Odisha DGP Reviews Security Ahead of President Murmu’s Visit

Bhubaneswar, July 31: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Y.B. Khurania chaired a high‑level review meeting on Wednesday to finalise security arrangements for President Droupadi Murmu’s upcoming visit to the state on August 4.

Senior officials, including ADGPs, the Commissioner of Police (Bhubaneswar‑Cuttack), Railway Security Commissioner, and CID‑CB representatives, attended the meeting.

The DGP directed all units to strictly adhere to Blue Book protocols governing VVIP security.

Preparatory measures include anti‑sabotage checks, intensified track patrolling, manning of level crossings, and advance identification of railway staff with duty passes.

Drone surveillance and continuous venue inspections will also be deployed.

Khurania emphasised close coordination among Police, Railways, and administrative authorities to ensure a secure and dignified visit by the President.
