Odisha CM Orders Probe into Textbook Errors

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has ordered strict action after errors were found in school textbooks published by the state government.

Chairing a high‑level meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan, Majhi directed officials to immediately correct the mistakes and hold those responsible accountable.

The meeting was attended by School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, and senior departmental officers.

A three‑member committee headed by the Development Commissioner has been formed to investigate the lapses and submit its report within seven days.

Majhi emphasised that such errors undermine the credibility of the education system and instructed a thorough review of the textbook preparation process.

He warned that disciplinary measures would be taken against those found guilty and stressed the need for stronger quality checks to prevent recurrence.
