Odisha CM Majhi Holds Key Talks with World Bank President Ajay Banga

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met World Bank President Ajay Banga at Lok Seva Bhawan to discuss strategies for inclusive and sustainable growth in the state.

The high-level meeting was attended by senior officials from both sides and focused on skill development, infrastructure upgrades, and resilient economic expansion.

Highlighting Odisha’s achievements, CM Majhi noted that the state has emerged as a business-friendly destination through flagship reforms and investments in infrastructure, MSMEs, agriculture, allied sectors, and tourism.

According to CMIE data, Odisha ranked second nationally in attracting investments worth Rs 2.5 lakh crore up to December 2025, just behind Andhra Pradesh.

Ajay Banga praised Odisha’s reform momentum and skill development initiatives, particularly the CTTC model, which will inspire the World Bank’s upcoming India strategy aligned with the country’s ITI modernisation plan.

He assured continued support through technical assistance, policy advisory, and financial partnerships.

The leaders also discussed global challenges such as urbanisation, sustainable resource use, and infrastructure creation, agreeing to work jointly on solutions. CM Majhi presented Odisha Vision 2036 & 2047: Viksit Odisha for Viksit Bharat, outlining transformative growth goals.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepen collaboration and explore new partnership avenues, positioning Odisha as a key player in India’s growth story.
