Khordha Courts to Host National Lok Adalat on Sept 12

Bhubaneswar, Aug 20: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Bhubaneswar, has announced that the third National Lok Adalat of 2026 will be held on September 12 across all judicial and revenue courts in Khordha district.

The Lok Adalat will take up a wide range of pending cases, including compoundable criminal matters, cheque bounce disputes, bank loan recovery, traffic challans, revenue cases, labour disputes, matrimonial issues (except divorce), land acquisition disputes, motor accident claims, and property disputes.

In addition to pending litigation, pre‑litigation disputes such as loan defaults and unpaid utility bills (telephone, electricity, water) can also be settled at the Lok Adalat office.

Authorities emphasised that no court fees will be charged, and any fees already paid in pending cases will be refunded if resolved.

Awards passed by Lok Adalat are final, binding, and enforceable in law, offering litigants a cost‑effective and speedy resolution mechanism.

Litigants are encouraged to approach the District Legal Services Authority, Bhubaneswar, or the nearest court‑based legal services committee for guidance and participation.
