Odisha CM Announces Sugar Mill, Textile Park

Bolangir, April 25: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 304 projects worth Rs 580 crore in Bolangir district during National Panchayati Raj Day celebrations.

Highlighting the government’s focus on industrial growth, Majhi announced a new sugar mill and a textile park to boost local industries and create employment opportunities in Western Odisha.

He also revealed plans for a Nursing College at Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital, strengthening healthcare education in the region.

The CM launched the Panchayati Raj Samikshya Portal to improve transparency and accountability in rural governance.

In addition, he distributed work orders to 50,000+ beneficiaries under the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana and announced 10 lakh new houses under PMAY.

Majhi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to provide piped drinking water to every household by March 2027, backed by a Rs54,000 crore investment.

Leaders also highlighted a record Rs 44,309 crore budget allocation for rural development this year.

These initiatives underline the government’s push for industrial expansion, welfare schemes, and rural governance reforms in Western Odisha.
