Odisha Chief Secretary Coordinates With Madhya Pradesh After Tragic Drowning of Seven Odias
In a tragic incident near Maa Banglamukhi Temple in Nalkheda tehsil, Agar-Malwa district of Madhya Pradesh, seven tourists from Bhubaneswar drowned in a stream.
The victims have been identified as Shiva Prasad Behera (43), Sai Swarnaprabha Behera (6), Krishna Rajbeer (13), Gyanendra Kumar Behera (40), Ritarani Behera (36), Sai Swastik Behera (10), and Radharani Behera (34).
Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg immediately coordinated with her Madhya Pradesh counterpart, directing officials to ensure rescue operations and formalities were completed swiftly.
She also instructed Odisha’s Language, Literature and Culture Department to maintain close liaison with MP authorities.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi ordered urgent arrangements to support the bereaved families.
Special Duty Officer Pritish Panda met relatives in Bhubaneswar to collect details, while Madhya Pradesh officials arranged ambulances and hearses for transporting the bodies to Odisha.
Rahul Jain, Revenue Inspector, was appointed nodal officer for the transportation, assisted by Patwari Anup Rajput. Coordination between both states ensured smooth handling of the tragedy.
The Chief Secretary expressed deep grief and conveyed condolences to the families.
