Orissa HC Defers Hearing on IPS Officer Sushant Nath’s Interim Protection Plea to November 6

The Orissa High Court on Tuesday deferred the hearing on the interim protection petition filed by senior IPS officer Sushant Kumar Nath to November 6.

The court is scheduled to jointly hear Nath’s plea seeking protection from coercive action as well as his petition seeking quashing of the FIR registered against him.

The case stems from allegations of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation levelled against the IPS officer by a former woman jailer.

Following the registration of the FIR, Nath approached the High Court seeking legal relief, including interim protection and dismissal of the criminal case.

According to the complainant, she was subjected to professional retaliation, departmental proceedings, and administrative harassment after allegedly rejecting unwelcome advances and refusing to withdraw an earlier case.

With the matter now postponed, the legal proceedings in the high-profile case will remain pending until the next hearing before the High Court on November 6.
