Odisha Assembly Winter Session to Begin Nov 18; Supplementary Budget Tops Agenda
Bhubaneswar: The Winter Session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly will commence on November 18 and continue till December 31, marking one of the longest sittings of the House this year.
According to the schedule, the session will span 44 days and include 33 working days.
A key agenda item during the session will be the presentation of the First Supplementary Statement of Expenditure for the financial year 2026-27 on the opening day, November 18.
The Assembly is expected to hold detailed discussions on the demands for grants related to the supplementary budget on November 25, 26 and 27.
These deliberations will provide legislators an opportunity to debate and scrutinise additional financial allocations sought by the government.
The Appropriation Bill linked to the First Supplementary Statement of Expenditure for 2026-27 is scheduled to be taken up on November 30.
The bill is crucial for authorising expenditure from the state exchequer based on the supplementary budget provisions.
With legislative business and financial discussions expected to dominate proceedings, the Winter Session is likely to witness extensive debates on governance, policy implementation and the state’s developmental priorities in the coming months.
