Odisha Approves ₹1,037 Crore PM-RKVY Plan for 2026–27
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has approved the Rs 1,037.19 crore Annual Action Plan under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY) for 2026–27, focusing on farmer income growth, climate resilience, and food security.
At the 39th State Level Sanctioning Committee meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, officials cleared 16 integrated schemes covering productivity enhancement, technology adoption, and national priority projects.
A major highlight is the launch of the ‘Kapas Kanti’ Cotton Mission, with an annual outlay of Rs 15.01 crore, targeting eight districts to boost cotton productivity through modern farming practices and farmer training.
Innovative projects such as clean energy from agricultural waste, a Zero Drudgery Value Chain Model to reduce women farmers’ workload, honey beekeeping expansion, and integrated tuber-root crop farming were also discussed.
The meeting reviewed watershed development under PMKSY and the Reward Odisha programme for climate-resilient agriculture.
A Standard Operating Procedure booklet on scaling PM-RKVY research outcomes was released.
Chief Secretary Garg directed officials to ensure timely, outcome-based implementation, with emphasis on micro-irrigation, branding of Koraput coffee, promotion of natural and organic farming, and mission-mode expansion of pulses and oilseeds.
Agriculture Secretary Sachin Ramchandra Yadav presented progress updates, while senior officers from Finance, Agriculture, Soil Conservation, Horticulture, and OUAT Vice-Chancellor participated.
