Odisha Appoints 154 Officers to Forest Service

The Odisha Forest Service has been strengthened with the induction of 154 officers, including 113 Forest Rangers and 41 Assistant Conservators of Forests (ACFs).


The appointments were made under the Odisha Forest Service Recruitment and Condition Rules, 2013, as amended in 2024, following recommendations of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).

The newly appointed Forest Rangers join as Group‑B officers with a pay scale of ₹44,900 (Level‑10, Cell‑01) plus allowances, while the ACFs enter the Group‑A (Junior Branch) cadre with a pay scale of ₹56,100 (Level‑12, Cell‑01) plus allowances. The Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department issued the notification, marking a significant step in strengthening Odisha’s environmental governance and forest management capacity.
