Odisha Announces Cashless Land Transactions and ₹600 Cr Revenue Bhavan

Odisha Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari has announced a major digital reform in land transactions, making all processes fully cashless.

Previously, cash payments up to Rs 15,000 were allowed, but the new system eliminates cash handling entirely.

The minister emphasised that this move will reduce middlemen, minimise repeated visits to registration offices, and ensure transparency.

Citizens will now be able to access post‑registration documents online, streamlining the process further.

In addition, Pujari unveiled plans for a 10‑storey Revenue Bhavan in Bhubaneswar, to be built at a cost of Rs 600 crore.

The building will consolidate key departments, including the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Fire Services, and Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF).

A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) will soon be issued to guide the implementation of cashless transactions across the state.

This dual initiative highlights Odisha’s commitment to digital governance and infrastructure modernisation, aiming to improve efficiency and public service delivery.
