Yellow Alert Issued in Odisha: Heavy Rain to Continue for 5 Days

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh districts.

The alert also includes risks of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching 30–40 km/h across several parts of Odisha.

Coastal and northern districts such as Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, and Cuttack are expected to experience stormy conditions.

The IMD has cautioned residents to remain alert as the wet weather pattern is likely to persist for the next five days, potentially disrupting normal life and local transport.

Authorities have advised precautionary measures, especially in vulnerable areas, to minimize risks from lightning strikes and localized flooding.
