Chemical-Laced Chhena and Paneer Seized in Odisha Raids
Authorities in Bhubaneswar and Berhampur have uncovered large-scale adulteration of dairy products during surprise raids.
Food safety officials destroyed over 50 kilograms of contaminated chhena and paneer after laboratory tests confirmed the presence of harmful chemicals.
Raids were conducted at Ravindra Mandap, Omfed booths, and several shops in Khazpa Sahi and Aga Sahi.
Samples failed iodine tests, confirming adulteration. Licenses of the implicated shops were revoked, and notices were issued under the Food Safety Act.
Officials warned that strict penalties will follow for traders engaging in unsafe practices. Consumers have been urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious food items.
