Nuapada Jailor Suspended After Convict’s Escape in Odisha
Nuapada, Odisha – A major security lapse has come to light after a convict serving a 20‑year sentence escaped from Nuapada Sub‑Jail on September 7, 2026.
The fugitive, Biswa Bihari Majhi (30), convicted in a 2021 rape case and sentenced in 2023, managed to flee while engaged in cleaning duties inside the prison.
Following the incident, Jailor Balaram Bisi Majhi was suspended for alleged negligence in maintaining prison security.
