NISER Student Dies After Hostel Roof Fall in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar, Sept 19: A tragic incident occurred at the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) in Bhubaneswar when a third‑year Integrated MSc student, Vinay Sanyasi Venkat from Nagpur, Maharashtra, fell from the roof of the Bhagirathi hostel late Friday night.
Venkat was rushed to AIIMS Bhubaneswar in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Jatani police reached the spot, took possession of the body, and sent it for post‑mortem examination.
Authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the fall. Further details are awaited.
