NAFED, FCI to Oversee Pulses and Oilseeds Procurement Drive

The Government of India has announced procurement of pulses and oilseeds under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) for the 2025‑26 season. The initiative aims to safeguard farmers against market fluctuations by ensuring minimum support prices (MSP) for key crops.

The scheme will be implemented across major producing states, with agencies like NAFED and FCI overseeing procurement operations. Farmers are encouraged to register with local procurement centers to avail benefits. Officials have emphasized that the move will stabilize prices, prevent distress sales, and strengthen food security.

This procurement drive is expected to cover a wide range of pulses and oilseeds, reinforcing the government’s commitment to supporting agricultural livelihoods while balancing consumer needs.
