Man Arrested for Smuggling Beef in Sundargarh, 30 Kg Seized
Sundargarh, April 28: Rajgangpur police arrested MD Rizwan (45) while transporting nearly 30 kilograms of beef on a scooter near Azad Road.
The meat, allegedly sourced from Khatakudi Bahal in Kutra block, was being taken to Rajgangpur for sale at a local hotel.
The arrest followed surveillance in Kukuda village, where SI Arun Kumar Behera intercepted Rizwan. Police seized the meat, registered a case, and forwarded the accused to court.
Authorities revealed that complaints of daily beef smuggling from Khatakudi Bahal to Rajgangpur had been received earlier.
Police have announced plans to intensify monitoring to curb illegal beef trade in the region.
