Jagamara Residents Rush to Safety as Ambulance Burns
Bhubaneswar, June 1: Panic gripped Jagamara locality early Monday morning after an ambulance suddenly caught fire while parked near a residential area.
The blaze, which broke out around 6 a.m., completely gutted the vehicle but fortunately caused no injuries.
A sanitation worker first noticed the flames and alerted nearby residents, who quickly moved other vehicles to safety.
Firefighters arrived promptly and doused the fire using foam spray, preventing further damage.
According to locals, the ambulance had returned from Cuttack around 4:30 a.m. and was parked when the incident occurred.
Witnesses reported that the vehicle often faced battery and engine issues, requiring push‑starts.
Authorities suspect a short circuit as the likely cause, though investigations are ongoing.
