EMRS Alumni Shine in Odisha Civil Services Exam 2026 | Tribal Success Stories

Three alumni of Odisha’s Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) have achieved a remarkable milestone by clearing the Odisha Civil Services Examination 2026 conducted by the OPSC.

Their success highlights the transformative role of EMRS in empowering tribal communities through quality education.

• Nilima Kumari Nayak, from the Gond tribe in Keonjhar, secured the 194th rank.
• Currently serving as an Assistant Labour Officer, she has risen from modest beginnings to become a role model for tribal youth.
• Krushna Chandra Hembram, a teacher at EMRS Bhawanipur and belonging to the Santal tribe, achieved the 185th rank.
• Despite losing both parents at a young age, his perseverance and dedication led him to success.
• Keshaba Majhi, from the Bhatra tribe in Nabarangpur, secured the 182nd rank.
• An alumnus of EMRS Hirli and now a teacher, he overcame challenges from his farming background to reach this milestone.

This achievement is being hailed as a landmark for tribal education in Odisha, inspiring marginalised communities to aspire for public service and leadership roles.
