Indian Gateball Union Warns Against Fraudulent Entity, Names 7-Member Squad for 4th Asia Pacific Open
BHUBANESWAR: The Indian Gateball Union (IGU) convened a press conference on Sunday at Hotel Gouri Cottage, Lewis Road, addressing media representatives on two major fronts: legal action taken against the fraudulent misuse of its identity and the announcement of the national team bound for the Asia Pacific Championship.
Speaking to the media, Guruprasad Tripathy, Secretary General of the Indian Gateball Union, highlighted the unauthorized use and ongoing misuse of the IGU’s official name, logo, and email ID by certain individuals who have allegedly formed a fictitious entity masquerading under the official identity.
To safeguard its identity, the IGU approached the Hon’ble District Magistrate Court in Bhubaneswar, Khurda. The court subsequently passed an interim order restraining the accused parties from utilizing the Trusts name, logo, official email ID, and any associated print, electronic, or digital media platforms.
Despite explicit directions from the court, Tripathy noted that the individuals involved have continued their unauthorized activities in clear violation of the injunction. In light of these violations, the IGU issued an urgent public notice appealing to the general public, media organizations, and sports bodies to respect the courts interim order and refrain from recognizing or associating with any unauthorized individuals or organizations using the Indian Gateball Union identity.
