Health Minister Urges Mass Participation in Online Yoga Session

Bhubaneswar, June 12: Odisha Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Mukesh Mahaling has called upon citizens to participate in a Guinness World Record attempt for the largest simultaneous online yoga session.

The event, scheduled for Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 6:15 AM to 7:35 AM, is part of International Yoga Day celebrations.

This year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”, highlights the importance of yoga in maintaining vitality, balance, and quality of life as people grow older.

The initiative is spearheaded by the Ayush Ministry, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Fit India vision and the United Nations’ recognition of June 21 as International Yoga Day.

Dr Mahaling urged participation from all sections of society—students, youth, women, senior citizens, doctors, health workers, government employees, and self‑help groups.

Citizens can register by giving a missed call to the toll‑free number 1800‑315‑7008.

Beyond breaking records, the Minister emphasised that the event is a national mission to make yoga a mass movement and promote healthy living across India.
