Ganjam Leads Odisha in Voter Roll Revision, Senior EC Official Praises BLOs

Ganjam district has emerged as a frontrunner in Odisha’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, earning praise from Senior Deputy Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti during his recent review visit.

Across 13 Assembly constituencies, 3,124 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and 311 supervisors have been deployed to ensure smooth progress.

Nearly 3 million voter forms have been distributed, achieving a remarkable 99.86% coverage. Of these, 60.44% have already been digitised, with over 1.14 million verified.

Bharti commended the dedication of BLOs and field staff, noting that Ganjam’s performance stands out despite its large voter base.

He interacted directly with BLOs to understand their challenges and successes.

Statewide, Odisha has achieved 99.29% form distribution and 53.19% digitisation.

Chief Electoral Officer R.S. Gopalan has directed all districts to complete the SIR exercise by June 23–24, ahead of the June 28 deadline.

Officials including Principal Secretary S.B. Joshi and Additional CEO Sushant Kumar Mishra joined the review meeting, underscoring the importance of timely completion of the voter roll revision drive.
