Chameli Ojha Resigns from BJP | Allegations of Injustice & Disrespect Towards Women
Kendrapara: Chameli Ojha, the Sarpanch of Tikhiri, has tendered her resignation from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that the party failed to deliver justice and did not respect women.
Ojha, who joined the BJP in 2024 and actively contributed to its youth wing campaigns, expressed disappointment that senior leaders ignored her despite her loyalty.
Her resignation was announced during a protest at Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar, which has continued for six days.
In her letter, Ojha levelled serious allegations against the party, citing unfair treatment and lack of support.
She clarified that she will not be joining any other political party after leaving the BJP.
Ojha’s exit adds to the growing dissent within the party’s grassroots leadership in Odisha, raising questions about internal accountability and women’s representation in politics.
