CBI Cracks Down: 16 Named in Odisha SI Exam Scam
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against 16 individuals in connection with the Odisha Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment exam scam.
The chargesheet details evidence of irregularities and financial transactions that allegedly compromised the fairness of the recruitment process.
Among those named are Shankar Prusti, Muna Mohanty, Suresh Nayak, Soumya Priyadarshini Samal, Rinku Maharana, Biranchi Nayak, and Nitish Kumar.
Nine of the accused had earlier been arrested by the Odisha Crime Branch, while the remaining seven were taken into custody by the CBI and produced before the court.
The investigation suggests that more individuals may have been involved, with additional charge sheets expected in the coming days.
The scam has sparked widespread outrage across Odisha, leaving thousands of aspirants disillusioned as allegations of corruption and manipulation surfaced.
Political circles have reacted sharply, with opposition parties targeting the government over accountability, while officials have assured full cooperation with the ongoing probe.
The CBI’s move is seen as a crucial step toward restoring credibility in recruitment examinations in the state.
