BDA Resolves Land Record Dispute, Relief for Kalinga Nagar Allottees
Bhubaneswar, Sept 2026: The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has delivered major relief to allottees of the K‑7, Kalinga Nagar plotted scheme (Ghatikia Mouza) by resolving long‑pending discrepancies in settlement records.
Plots allotted in 1991 had mismatches in revenue records, preventing beneficiaries from accessing essential post‑allotment services such as lease deeds and property conversion.
Following appeals to the Housing & Urban Development Minister and BDA Chairman Dr Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, the government ordered a time‑bound resolution.
Lawyers were appointed to represent genuine allotment holders, and weekly hearings were conducted by the Member, Board of Revenue.
A joint inspection by multiple departments led to the Court directing corrections in 218 cases, instructing the Bhubaneswar Tahsildar to amend plot areas and maps.
This landmark decision clears hurdles for K‑7 allotment holders, enabling smooth access to services.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Minister and BDA Chairman, calling the move a reflection of the administration’s commitment to citizen‑centric governance and timely grievance redressal.
