Rourkela Youth Nabbed with Heroin Worth ₹1.35 Lakh
Rourkela, April 11: Police in Rourkela arrested a 19‑year‑old youth, Monu Nayak, during routine patrolling in Timber Colony under Plantsite Police Station limits.
Authorities recovered 27.074 grams of heroin, valued at approximately Rs 1.35 lakh, from an envelope in his possession. A white OPPO Reno 15 Pro Mini 5G mobile phone was also seized as evidence.
The arrest took place near a public toilet behind Deepti Hotel, where the accused was allegedly engaged in the narcotics trade.
Police have taken him into custody and launched an investigation into the source of the contraband and possible links to a wider drug network.
Officials reiterated their commitment to intensifying crackdowns on drug trafficking in Sundargarh district and urged citizens to report suspicious activities to help dismantle narcotics distribution networks.
