Red Kangaroo to Leap Into Nandankanan Zoo

Bhubaneswar: Nandankanan Zoological Park is set to welcome a fascinating lineup of exotic animals, adding global diversity to Odisha’s premier wildlife destination.

Among the highlights is the Red Kangaroo, Australia’s largest marsupial, which will be housed in a specially designed Australian Adventure enclosure.

The zoo is also preparing enclosures for Cheetahs, reintroduced under Project Cheetah after their extinction in India in 1952, and African Zebras, bringing the vibrancy of the savannah to Bhubaneswar.

Joining them will be the Blue Wildebeest, famous for Africa’s great migrations, and the Red Panda, a rare Himalayan mammal known for its striking reddish coat and bushy tail.

With species arriving from Australia, Africa, and the Himalayas, Nandankanan Zoo is poised to offer visitors a unique glimpse of global wildlife, strengthening its reputation as a hub for conservation and education.
